The Quinto Sapling is part of our popular white bone china range with raised 3D patterns although on this mug the understated leaf motif is embossed into the bone china. The mug shape was inspired by a small Cuban conga drum called a Quinto. We designed it with a smaller handle than our main ranges of white mugs to compliment its delicate shape. It’s a comforting mug to hold and it makes a simple cup of tea or coffee feel that little bit more special.
Our bone-china mugs are made the traditional way, starting with liquid clay poured into a mould by hand. The mug then goes through around 20 hand processes, as well as three firings in a kiln before it’s ready. Because they’re made by hand, our mugs may differ from each other very slightly, which we think adds to their charm and character.
The quality is first rate, just as you would expect from bone china made in England.
